The Strengthening Communities team at Essex County Council held a series of four events in Spring 2015 across the County. Entitled ‘Who Will Care: Swap Shops’ they provided a forum to swap information, learning and ideas about current themes in health and social care and also showcase good ideas and projects from Essex and beyond.
Who will Care was an independent commission led by Sir Tom Hughes-Hallett that produced a report last April setting out a number of solutions to prevent future crisis in health and social care in Essex. As part of this agenda Essex County Council is working with the community and voluntary sector to mobilise community resources to play a greater role in providing new solutions. The intention was that the Swap Shops event would spark debate, inspire people and generate new ideas in order to assist in developing better quality solutions for citizens.
